ISK is serious about keeping our Ohana safe and healthy. Since the area we train in is small and depending on your comfortability, masks are encouraged to be worn . And that all students and instructors (visitors included) be fully vaccinated and boosted. Those with symptoms of illness may not train. We teach the Art of Kajukenbo - Hawaiian Street Fighting, or Polynesian fighting arts. It is considered America's Original MMA or Mixed Martial Art. It consists of: Tang Soo Do, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Kenpo, and Gung Fu. And more techniques have been added throughout it's history. Our philosophy is to teach you what we have learned from Kajukenbo and Bruce Lee: "Absorb what is useful. Discard what is not. Add what is uniquely your own."
We run small classes in a semi-private setting, spending equal time with each individual student. We have a uniquely fun, positive, can-do attitude that helps students truly believe they can accomplish their goals. The training is all about the students, not about the teachers. We are here to guide you.
Your experience at our school will result in improved health, attitude, and mental abilities, and in continuous growth and development through a lifetime of discipline, training, meeting new friends, and Ohana.
We would like to break the myth that martial arts is all about violence. In fact, it is quite
the opposite: martial arts is about not getting hurt, or, better yet, learning to minimize injury from an attack. Martial arts is about walking through life in peace and self discovery.
